I’ve been using International Auto Specialist for a couple years now. I started using them after I got fed up with the local VW dealer and multiple issues. First thing I noticed was when I spoke to them on the phone prior to ever going in. They were polite, friendly, and knowledgeable. Once I got up there the politeness continued, almost to a fault (that’s not a complaint). I was a little confused/concerned as I had just towed my own car to the Lafayette location to fix a massive coolant leak. Everyone was super nice, one of the mechanics even came out to see if I needed help off loading. Inside the friendliness continued, and I started thinking that something was wrong with these guys. Nobody is this nice, and laid back these days. I began to worry that I wouldn’t see my car again for months. To my surprise the diagnosed the leak that I had been chasing around for weeks, explained to me the options and prices, and got everything fixed relatively quick (height of COVID). The mechanics even dealt with my questions about the leak by showing me what/how the part failed when I asked. All the time without any sign of “this jerk asking questions” attitude; they showed a genuine concern. I have used them since on multiple occasions for repair and service. While I like to work on my own vehicles, I’m not worried about taking my car here like I was with the dealer. I will continue to use and recommend them over the VW dealer. Prices were better, staff was excellent, and even though it’s just a plain waiting area it’s still better than the local VW office.
